About Us

Kimberly Reaves AS, LMT, CNHP, (MA31726) founded A New U! Healing Arts Center in 1999. She has an Associates degree in Clinical Laboratory Science; is a Licensed Massage Therapist and a Certified Natural Healing Practitioner with 8 years of hands-on experience. Personal injuries acquired from multiple auto accidents, has given her 17 years experience in trauma and pain. The limitations experienced from these have taught her to honor her body and those of her clients.

Her intuitive techniques help the patient release pent-up physical and emotional holding patterns with little or no stress to the body. Her specialized training in The BodyTalk™ System, Quantum Touch®, Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, Bodywork, Polarity, Massage Cupping® and other Therapeutic Modalities has increased her education of how the body heals naturally; allowing her to work extensively with clients, aiding in their recovery.

Pain has been her teacher both personally and professionally! She has studied it from the inside and out. Understanding pain at the deeper levels, learning that it also has emotional components that inhibit our abilities to move forward physically as well as emotionally, assists healing  following an accident or trauma.

As a Rehab Success Coach, she works with each client to aid them to a fuller understanding of their pain, it’s limitations and how to overcome or work with it – to improved quality of life!

Kim’s background also includes Laboratory Technology, Herbology, Nutrition and Natural Healing. She combines her medical background with more than 17 years of personal rehabilitation from physical pain related to traumatic injuries.

Through her own personal transformation she has gained compassion for others in acute and chronic pain. This personal experience has greatly benefited her clients. Their quality of life is improved by working with someone that understand the physiology of pain and is willing to work at their level of healing, empowering them to the next stage of improvement.

Kimberly and the professional staff incorporate All-Natural Therapies that provide the maximum benefit for their clients. Kim is a Certified BodyTalk™ and Quantum Touch® Practitioner. The staff also expand their abilities by learning the same and other modalities that will aid the client to better health naturally.

Kimberly was selected as the 2005 State of Florida Vocational Rehabilitation’s Success Story for disabled clients. She has been featured in The Jacksonville Business Journal, the Florida Times Union periodicals, State of Florida publications as well as community newspapers.  She is currently serving a second term as 1st Vice President for the First Coast Chapter of the Florida State Massage Therapy Association.

John A. Reaves will be teaching Yoga in the Himalayan Tradition; an authentic living meditative tradition that dates back more than 7000 years.   John, himself receives the training and blessings from his Master, Yogarishi Deolal Mahabir, a direct disciple of Sri Swami Rama of the Himalayas.

John Reaves is well acquainted with the therapeutic benefits of Yoga and Meditation. Diagnosed in 2005, with Degenerative Disc Disease and herniated discs that impinged/pressed on the spinal cord, John became all too familiar with severe chronic pain. He also suffered from high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and sleep apnea. After trying many unsuccessful treatment options for his pain, both allopathic and alternative, John gave one last shot with one of the oldest healing solutions, Yoga.   After just one month of a regular gentle Hatha Yoga practice, his pain began to subside. After three months, the pain was all but gone. Regular practice keeps it in check. Only when he becomes inconsistent in practice, does the pain creep back. Other benefits he received and still does, is a reduction in weight, blood pressure, cholesterol, and with his physician’s approval, the elimination of certain drugs used for his sleep apnea.

As he began to feel better physically, John was impelled to explore the deeper aspect of Yoga Meditation. With a regular practice of meditation, his stress levels dropped significantly, his peace of mind skyrocketed, as well as concentration and mental clarity. He says, “Meditation is the jewel in the crown. Mankind seeks the answers to its problems on the outside. The answers lie inside us. We just need to learn stillness, to hear those answers.”

Through the simple but profound Yogic techniques taught by John, you will learn to conquer stress, cultivate peace of mind, achieve greater health, and improve mental clarity and concentration. Those techniques include Meditation, classic Hatha Yoga postures and a special series of micro-movements developed by his Teacher, the Yogarishi.

Kristina Austill(MA 54327) studied massage therapy at Alpha School of Massage, graduating in May 2008.   Though she has had a lifelong interest in massage as a art form, she did not decide to pursue formal education until shortly after witnessing her mother’s battle with breast cancer.   Prior to beginning massage school in 2007, Kristina was in her third year of apprenticeship to become a plumber. She was in near-constant pain from the continual wear and tear of such a physically demanding career. On a whim, she decided to enroll in massage school part-time. She attended night classes, working during the day and continuing her apprenticeship classes on alternating nights. She began to realize just how much she did not desire to remain in construction work. Her pain was gradually lessening as she traded massage with her classmates and learned proper body mechanics, and she decided then to end her plumbing career and dedicate her body and soul to the field of massage.

Kristina has an instinctive sense of mechanical form and function and readily grasps new concepts and techniques. She enjoys the constant challenge of  learning, adapting, and creating her own personal style in order to provide a therapeutic massage tailored to the unique intricacies of each individual she sees.  She has pursued specialized training in order to work safely and effectively with oncology patients and cancer survivors, and understands the effects cancer has on both the individual, and their support system, from the moment of diagnosis, through treatment, into survivorship, and during end of life.
Her goals as a therapist are to continually expanding her knowledge and skills in order to provide a positive and healing experience to all who allow her the opportunity to touch their lives.
